Zodiac Fahrt im Vaigat Sound (Sullorsuaq Straße) zum Camp Mario. Auf der einen Seite eine mystische Stimmung durch Nebel und Eisberge. Auf der anderen Seite der Halbinsel blauer Himmel und Sonne. Zurück gab es wieder Nebel und Eisblöcke am Strand. Alles innerhalb 60 Minuten.
Zodiac trip in Vaigat Sound (Sullorsuaq Strait) to Camp Mario. On one side a mystical atmosphere with fog and icebergs. On the other side of the peninsula, blue skies and sunshine. Back again there was fog and blocks of ice on the beach. All within 60 minutes.

To see the change in nature when summer melts the frozen waterfall below Russell Glacier in Greenland was breathtaking!!!😍
Russell is not like other glaciers. Even though it`s located inland, it has a dramatic vertical front. Normally, it`s the glaciers ending in seas that look like this, and no one knows why Russell behaves this way
The front is 70m high and 800 meters wide! If you`re lucky, you can see the ice calving and ice blocks crashing into the meltwater river below🧊
The glacier is constantly moving. Because of the weight of the ice sheet, the glacier is being pushed outward while the rising temperatures eat up the glacier faster. You can really tell the difference between the years
The blue color seen in the ice is due to tiny air bubbles. Pure ice absorbs all colors of light, but the small bubbles reflect the blue part of the spectrum. Some of this ice is over 30,000 years old. I`m happy to have been guiding in this special environment🩵
